Please help us give a warm CSEI welcome to our newest Design Assistant, Michael Malles!

He is currently studying Electrical Engineering at ECPI University Online. Michael has done many jobs in his life, from cooking vegan food for hundreds of people a day, to designing custom jewelry. He brings a sincere enthusiasm to learning about science, math, and engineering.

Michael lives with his partner Melissa, his son Julian, and his pet dog Shanti. He will soon be welcoming his second son into the world! On vacations, he enjoys going to the mountains with his family. Michael is a lifelong musician and enjoys playing music in his free time. He is also a well-known yoga teacher in the Gainesville area.

While growing up, you could most likely find Michael with his nose in the pages of a science fiction book. He gains inspiration from stories that explore the ideas of human creativity and resilience. Michael seeks to reimagine the engineer by engaging his unique perspective and sincere concern for the planet to create designs that make a difference.

Welcome once again Michael, we’re so glad to have you! To learn more about Michael, click here!

Involvement

We were honored to sponsor and attend the 4th Annual United Way ‘Small Business Summit: Leading with Care.’ Kevin and Lesley heard from an outstanding lineup of inspiring leaders who shared how we can ‘Care for Ourselves,’ ‘Care for Our Team,’ ‘Care for Our Customers,’ and ‘Care for Our Community.’

We also learned about the needs in our community based on local data and research from United Way's ALICE report. We hope to use this momentum to create positive change in our region. A big thanks to everyone who made this event possible, it was quite impactful. We can’t wait for next year! A big thank you to the Community Foundation of North Central Florida for hosting the inaugural NextGen Donor Philanthropy Initiative. Nine community members joined together, including our very own Principal, Kevin Spellicy. Another day, another Rebuild! This time with our good friends at Monarch Design Group! Earlier this year, we all met to make some impact together, then enjoyed some lunch at Satchel’s. There was a delicious spread with so many tasty bites, and even a bourbon tasting bar! Kevin, Whitney, Lesley, and David enjoyed mixing, mingling, live music, and a silent auction. We were honored to sponsor, and donate towards the “Gift of Hope” at the event too. We can’t wait until next year, it was such a great time!
